At times when something is weighing heavily on my mind;
And my demeanour changes
As the fire in my eyes start to flicker;
Someone reminds me:
“Do not let the bitter water in.”
And that puts things back into perspective.
It’s so important to surround yourself
With people who ‘get’ you;
Who can sprinkle a little bit of gasoline on your fire
When they notice it diminishing;
So that it reignites and burns brightly once again.
Hand-pick humans who pour into you;
Transfer good vibes;
Lift you up when life gets too daunting.
Create a circle that provides a continuous flow of positivity and hope;
Let their energy rejuvenate & restore whatever gets lost on your daily traverse.
And so when I am full, I can reciprocate;
So that there is an endless reserve
To replenish one soul to the next.
You don’t have to walk this path alone;
There’s no award for having done a 100 metre;
It’s okay to run a relay and celebrate a shared victory;
The people supporting and cheering you on
Play an equally pivotal role, in how your race ends.

I love it … itโs exactly how I feel
